(i have proofread papers of english majors that astounded me. i'm NOT an english, nor do i profess to be *great* at it! i'm better than that though ) it is not only your 'predictive text' that screws up the spelling of too words to overlook, it is also that you write in incomplete sentences. You use punctuation incorrectly. an example: "But maybe I should stop letting my predictive text write what it wants. Or maybe just proof read what I type." you shouldn't start a sentence with a preposition, and the 'period' should be a comma, since the way you wrote them, neither of those sentences can stand alone. honestly, i'm not trying to be mean, but that was just one example. i could go on i'm just trying to open your eyes a little to what other people are seeing. this IS the internet, and writing in perfect english is completely unnecessary. there is a difference between laziness and 'wrong usage.' you already wrote a 'period,' why not just use a comma instead? as an example, i use capitalization for emphasis, not per english code. partly out of laziness, partly to make the message clearer. i do punctuate though. if i didn't, it would be tougher to read, and often times make less (or no) sense. all that aside bazinga is showing a pet peeve of his on the 'unique' critique. there's a t-shirt/bumper sticker saying on the topic: You're unique! Just like everyone you are unique, in the sense there isn't anyone out there that is an exact replica. your interests are not unique. (this is the opinion of others in the thread, since i don't even know what Yu-Gi-Oh is.) some of the advice i liked best was from early on in the thread, keep it short, simple. i even liked his example of the abbveviated ad. and then truly be patient. this IS a *free* site, and there are a lot of people on here who are looking for quick, easy ____________. when they don't find it on the first, they bail. what do they have to lose? it's the internets.
